Oaktree Development

Welcome to Oaktree Development

For over 40 years, Oaktree Development (formerly Unihab) has specialized in innovative, sustainable, mixed-use multifamily projects—many of them transit-oriented. Founded by architect-developers Arthur Klipfel and Gwen Noyes, Oaktree has led or designed more than 2,000 residential units with a commitment to high performance, social impact, and thoughtful urban design.

Oaktree’s companion firm, GreenStaxx (GSX), brings a patented modular building system to market, developed by Arthur Klipfel to streamline the design and construction of urban residential units. Using a digital library of pre-engineered unit stacks, GSX enables developers to build faster, reduce costs, and lower risk while meeting high sustainability standards.

Attractive, Efficient, profitable, and proven.
Our comfortably contemporary apartments are designed with both resourceful layouts and aesthetics in mind: every room is optimized for functionality and livability. This efficiency gives the property owner the advantage of achieving higher rents per square foot, while keeping overall construction costs competitive. Beyond enabling impressive occupancy levels, our building plans have been market tested: our Greenstaxx layouts consistently attract strong demand, notably maintaining waitlists for those eager to move in. This illustrates the power of refined modular design that truly stands out from the competition.
